EXFO: Value-added Project implementation

Company Highlights

Founded in 1985 by Germain Lamonde with an initial $100 investment and a vision “to become the world leader in fiber optic testing for the telecom industry”, EXFO develops smarter test, monitoring and analytics solutions for fixed and mobile network operators, webscale companies and equipment manufacturers in the global communications industry.

EXFO’s customers count on our unique blend of equipment, software and services to accelerate digital transformations related to fiber, 4G/LTE and 5G deployments. EXFO spent over 35 years earning this trust, and today more than 1,900 EXFO employees in over 25 countries work side by side with their customers in the lab, field, data center and beyond.

New partnership

EXFO found themselves expanding year over and year and realized that they needed to move to a “Best-of-breed” HRIS and selected SAP SuccessFactors to equip the organization’s HR needs with the best possibility of success.

In 2018 EXFO started their SAP SuccessFactors journey by implementing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) and Recruitment.  When it came to expanding their SAP SuccessFactors footprint by adding SAP SuccessFactors Performance and Goal Management, they decided to partner with IN-RGY.

The focus in selecting an implementation partner was to find a vendor who shared EXFO’s Mission, Values and Culture, who also had a proven track record of providing Customer Satisfaction and system expertise; this is how EXFO found IN-RGY

Both companies are founded by individuals in Quebec Canada, share the passion for growth and have a common respect for their employees and community.

Challenges Highlights

  • Finding a partner who is aligned to their Mission, Values and Culture
  • Optimizing the system for their requirements, while keeping it easily maintainable for the client
  • Personalized support

A Trusted partner

The IN-RGY team came in and quickly got up to speed on our Performance and Goal requirements and they set out to build us the system that we needed.

IN-RGY’s consultants knew the HR space very well and drew from past experiences, both as a customer using SAP SuccessFactors and from their vast experience implementing and supporting other companies. They shared their leading practices and challenged us on our current processes to ensure that we were designing a system of the future and not just recreating our current process."

The Journey Continues

EXFO has chosen SAP JAM as their official Company Intranet integrating it with their SAP SuccessFactors system; with these 2 enhancements, the EXFO user population has a better appreciation for their HRIS.  Users and Managers are starting to see SAP SuccessFactors as a tool which facilitates their daily lives.

The online performance management system and the intranet have been essential in helping EXFO move to a more virtual way of working. In addition, HR and Management now have better access to data and reports, to help the business to make informed decisions

Finally, the internal team is now more autonomous in the day-to-day administration of the system and can suggest modules which will help EXFO to attain its strategic goals.

IN-RGY looks forward to continuing the partnership with EXFO and being their partner of choice when it comes time to further expand their SAP SuccessFactors journey.

IN-RGY took the time needed to ensure that they understood our needs, but more importantly, they left us feeling confident about our system, as we now have more knowledge about SAP SuccessFactors."
